Congratulations to Dr. Ellen Smith
We are pleased to recognize Dr. Smith for being chosen Family Physician of the year.
Good morning. This is Dr. Joe Cincotta. I want to use our time together this morning by recognizing one of my family physician colleagues who was recently honored at Pennsylvania Family Physician of the Year. Dr. Ellen Smith of Heritage Family Medicine received this award and recognition as a result of the fine work she does everyday caring for her fellow Pennsylvanians. She brings a thoughtful, capable, and caring approach to her work – one that demonstrates leadership and commitment to excellence. Although family medicine is not receiving the influx of younger physicians needed to meet Pennsylvania’s current and future needs, Dr. Smith serves as a wonderful role model and example for our younger colleagues still deciding about their future careers in medicine. There are many rewards and challenges in primary care. Each day brings us in contact with new patients and old friends who we have cared for over many years in addition to a broad spectrum of medical, psychological, and social issues.
Central Pennsylvania is fortunate to have Dr. Ellen Smith, and we are proud to call her our colleague and friend. Congratulations, Dr. Ellen Smith.
