What role can your attitude play in your health?

Good Morning this is Doctor Joe Cincotta. Do you ever think about what enables people to overcome adversity or to prevail against seemingly insurmountable odds? I see people everyday who must deal with significant threats to their health. These threats come in many forms; physical illness, overwhelming stress, and personal loss to name just a few. What I observe as a common thread among those who deal more effectively than others is attitude. A belief in your ability to overcome adversity is essential to achieving desirable outcomes. There are factors in most difficult situations we cannot control and none of us can guarantee success when dealing with serious health issues. Without a positive attitude, without a belief in ourselves, and in the healing process, we certainly diminish the chances of success. By cultivating a positive attitude we can impact our health. Believe in yourself and what you can do. It does make a difference.
